Heena joined nVent over three years ago in 2020 and is a pricing specialist in our Thermal Management business segment. She works remotely from the bustling city of Mumbai, India. Her transformative journey to finding her way to us starts with a sabbatical from corporate work.

In 2018, Heena decided to step away from the traditional work environment due to the toll of a monotonous lifestyle. “Thankfully, I had the liberty to do so,” she noted, hinting at the path that she would soon embark on to find more exciting endeavors. Initially, she dreamed of business ownership. After experiencing the highs and lows that come along with that, she ultimately realized, “A monotonous lifestyle doesn’t break you, you instead have to break the monotone.”

Her entry into nVent was completely unforeseen. “A friend of mine sent me a LinkedIn forward. After exploring and learning more about nVent, I responded quickly,” she says. “Within a week, I was onboarded!” This velocity of her joining is atypical for most of our roles, but it makes sense because it was during the pandemic. Heena felt destiny played its part in bringing her to nVent—a company that was still doing well through a very difficult point in time.

Since joining in 2020, Heena’s role has evolved significantly. “There’s so much more I do today than from what I started,” she explained. From running errands on pricing quotes and orders to imparting training and collaborating with others, her days are filled with diverse tasks. However, it’s the unpredictability and the freedom from micromanagement that she values deeply. “At nVent, not every day is ‘typical’,” she remarked.

Central to her experience at nVent is the empowering leadership and camaraderie. “My manager is both a wonderful leader and person overall with the right set of virtues,” Heena praised, highlighting the significance of trust and support in the workplace.

Her visit to our Belgium office stands out as a memorable moment, where she was warmly recognized by her international colleagues, further solidifying her sense of belonging and appreciation within the global nVent community. Heena gets to see how our employees live out our Win Right values daily. “In my role, I have to connect with teammates from different countries and it’s such a delight to experience global exposure,” she states. “This exposure offers me opportunities to learn about our different values and the people who demonstrate them so well.”

What truly resonates with Heena is the company’s inclusive culture and the flexibility it offers, which has been an advantage, especially as another aspect of her life is serving as a caregiver for her aging father. “Staying at home and still being able to work gives me immense freedom and a feeling of gratitude towards the company and my manager,” she expressed.
